Decolonize Now!

"Marching for Human Rights, Indigenous Rights, and the Rights of Mother Earth"

Tonatierra’s Comités de Defensa del Barrio marched 13 miles today from the Maricopa County Jail in Phoenix to the Glendale Police Department to remind local authorities the fight to repeal SB 1070 is not over.

In doing so, Tonatierra and the CDB is also sending a message to those negotiating future comprehensive immigration legislation in Washington: Decriminalize the millions of migrant workers and respect the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

For Tonatierra, “Decolonize Now” means shifting our view as a people from victims of colonization to part of a continental struggle for Indigenous rights. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
