In restaurants throughout the United States, Mexicans are likely those doing the cooking. Whether you’re ordering Korean or French, someone originally from Mexico is probably preparing your meal.
This short documentary, “Mexican Cuisine,” by filmmaker Fran Guijarro, pays tribute to the thousands of Mexican cooks who with honor and pride work long hours over a hot stove for a living. As seen in this short, they not only bring a strong work ethic but a rich culinary tradition reflected in the quality of their work.
Although the focus of this film is on California, the experience is very similar for raza in New York, Illinois, Georgia and almost every other state in the US. A salute to all our paisanos in the kitchen! ¡Son un orgullo mexicano!
