#1SMX: Students, Teachers and Drones

Tens of thousands of students from #YoSoy132, striking teachers of CNTE and supporters took to the streets of Mexico City to protest the proposed education and energy reforms of the Enrique Peña Nieto administration on Sunday.

Riot police and young people clashed, sending groups of both to the hospital. Anarchists reportedly threw Molotov cocktails at police, while police brought out a water cannon and made arbitrary arrests.

Update: Reports that the Mexico City Police Department or the Federal Police of Mexico used a drone to monitor protests were disputed when Reforma published a video claiming the unmanned aircraft was rented by them to cover the 1SMX marches.
